India is one of the world’s fastest growing economies, it's the 6th largest energy consumer and emits 5% of global carbon emissions (emissions increased by 0.6 bn metric tonnes 1990-03)*.  India therefore has a key role to play in mitigating climate change and reducing greenhouse gases.  Between the start of the year and mid-April 2007 the CDM Executive Board has registered over 80 projects in India.

The inaugural Carbon Markets India conference is a content rich, business networking event, run together with the Confederation of Indian Industry, that will bring together the worlds leading carbon consultants, brokers and financiers with Indian business and industry.
